Mike was born 1969 in the UK. The son of a church organist he went onto study piano technology and tuning after leaving school. After meeting influential musicians at the Leeds College of Music he joined rock band 'To The Fountain' and spent the next few years touring Europe.
During this period he began learning the skills of recording and production eventually ending up as house engineer at Station Studios, London, UK
During the spring of 1999 Mike began work with the unknown group Coldplay and they recorded a four track EP which went onto showcase the band getting them Radio 1 airplay and eventually a deal with Parlophone Records. Mikes production shaped their early sound introducing them to atmospherics and space in recording.
Mike left the UK and moved to New Zealand where he set up a studio specialising in Music For Film. He has produced both electronic and acoustic music specialising in cinematic sound and recently has had numerous piano compositions used for TV including the well known EDF advert featuring Sir Michael Gambon.
